Devon Recap

Canmore Coho travelled all the way up to Devon last weekend to compete in the hot outdoors! 11 Coho represented the Bow Valley at the outdoor pool and I was super pumped watching all the racing!

Norah Andronyk- won the 50 and 100 breastroke, and also grabbed a second place in the 50 free! Norah works extra hard in practice every day, and her swims keep getting better and better!

Carter Beamish- the man, the myth, the legend won all four races he swam, including an excellent personal best in the 400 meter freestyle.

Evan Beamish- Evan comes away from the meet with two third place finishes and a couple of personal bests. Nice work Evan!

Adi Beaudet- Swam two super-great races, the 25 free and the 25 back! He may be a young Coho, but he's learning to swim fast!

Tai Beaudet- continues to impress the coaches with an awesome rookie season with Coho. He took large chunks of time off his personal bests, and continues to improve all points of his swimming.

Dylan Bleakney- swam three personal best times this weekend, dropping lots of time off his swims. Nice job Dylan!

Jocelyn Bleakney- discovered this weekend that she has super fast breastroke! She also swam a great 50 and 100 meter freestyle.

Chloe Boucher- swam great races all around on the weekend, and has been working super hard in practice to improve all points of her swimming. Great job Chloe!

Tanner Douce- Tanner is continuing to improve by leaps and bounds every swim meet. He also finished top 3 in each race he swam on the weekend. Nice!

Jordan Olsthoorn- has also been improving a tremendous amount this year. She has a second place finish (400 free) and third place finish (50 free).

Isabelle Werner- Isabelle is also a first time Coho swimmer, and she swam so great in her 25 freestyle and 25 backstroke!

ASSA All Stars The top swim meet in Alberta is dubbed the "Alberta Summer Swimming Championships". Summer swimmers can attend this fast swim meet if they meet the very difficult time standards. For the first time in a long time (maybe ever), Coho sent a swimmer to compete at the championships! The swimmers are called "ASSA All Stars"

Ella Stokowski- Ella went up to Edmonton to swim 50/100 breasroke and 50 freestyle against the fastest 13/14 year olds in the province. She managed to make a "B" final in the 100 breastroke and swim and impressive personal best time in the 50 freestyle. Great job Ella!

-If you haven't already please sign up for the Tritons, Canmore and Regional swim meets!

- Practice times have not changed for the next month and a half.

Dryland is just as important as the swimming and Coach Kate has done a lot of hard work with the program this year. SO Please arrive for your dry-land slots as well. We will still be doing dry land outside for the group 3 and 4's. Weather permitting. Please bring your water, hats, shoes, proper clothing.

- A HUGE thanks to all the swimmers and parents who participated in the swim like crazy day. The swimmers swam 54,300 meters combined!! Impressive!

Group 3: Evan with 4150 m!

Group 4: Carter with 5050 m!

Even our Junior swimmers swam up to 600m!
